Shipping

Ok, today we are going to learn about the shipping types and what the best type of shipping is. There is no "best" shipping company but there are companies that are just better than others.

Shipping Companies

Below is a chart outlining the shipping companies most wholesalers use, there approximte shipping time as well as their website to track your shipping order.

Carrier Name Ship to Estimated time Tracking Services
DHL Worldwide 2-5 days www.dhl.com
UPS Worldwide 2-5days www.ups.com
TNT Worldwide 2-5days www.tnt.com
EMS Worldwide 3-7 days www.ems.com.cn
USPS USA 3-7 days www.usps.com
PARCEL FORCE UK 3-7 days www.parcelforce.com
CHRONOPOST France 3-7 days www.chronopost.fr

Best Shipping methods

The carriers you will want to choose are either DHL,UPS,TNT or EMS. Most wholesalers will ship via EMS unless asked otherwise. Your first option for them to send it should be UPS or DHL. They are good companies that I haven't had any problems with. TNT is your second choice, they are a good company but have been a little bit sketchy on the delivery times form previous experiences. Your last option is EMS, EMS is a part of the Chinese postal service. EMS is not the best choice if you are looking for fast shipping as they take a while to send it out and enter the code in their database for tracking, but they always take care of the product and it usually arrives safely.

Payment

Today we are going to learn about the different payments available, with there pros and cons, for most wholesalers and what the best method of payment is.
Payment types

There are alot of ways to pay for wholesale products, the most common of these are Western Union, Bank Transfer and PayPal.

Western Union:
Western Union helps you provide for your loved ones almost anywhere in the world. Whether it’s for education, healthcare or groceries, we offer Consumer-to-Consumer Money-Transfer Services to get resources to members of your family quickly.

Pros:
Easy to do
Friendly customer service

Cons:
No way of getting the money back if you got scammed.
Their fees are really High. (for an iPod as an extra 30 bucks or so ontop of the price)
Have to call up every time to confirm the transaction.

Bank Transfer:
Bank transfer is pretty self explanatory. It's just transferring from your bank to the wholesalers bank account.

Pros:
Cant really think of anything good about bank transfer, sorry guys

Cons:
Hard to get back the money if you can even get it back at all.
Takes a long time

PayPal:
PayPal is the safer, easier way to pay and get paid online. The service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances, without sharing financial information.

Pros:
PayPal is fast and easy
Instant payment
Can reverse payment if product is not as described

Cons:
Terrible customer service if you have to file a dispute

I would suggest using PayPal as its the most secure type of payment, but not many wholesalers accept PayPal. Always try to look for wholesalers that accept PayPal even if the price is a little bit higher. Because using western union you pay more in fees and if it turns out to be a scam you can't get your money back.

How to spot the fakes

Hey guys, today I'm going to show you how to make sure you are getting a real iPod instead of a cheap fake. One of the best ways to spot a fake is to make sure you follow these golden rules.

Rule 1.
Read the full description of the product. A lot of people take advantage of the fact most people will read the products name and not bother reading the full description. Sure it says "wholesale ipod touch 16gb mp4 player IPOD". But what they don't tell you is that it isn't an actual iPod touch. Upon inspecting the details of the listing it says 2.8" screen ipod look alike. then further down the bottom of the page it says "This item is not original, but good in quality and price with 2.8" ipod like screen. you can choose with logo or without logo. welcome to your order". Make sure that the iPods has a 3.5" screen, that is the correct size of the screen on an iPod.

Rule number 2.
Always make sure you check that they will work with the apple software like iTunes and other compatible products for iPods like the docking stations and speakers. You don't want to get your product and not be able to have use it properly because you didn't bother to check it was compatible. Which brings us to our next rule.

Rule 3.
Make sure you ask questions about the product.Let me say that again in bold. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS! The reason the seller puts down "If you need any more information feel free to ask." is so that you will ask a question regarding the iPod. If you send a question and the seller hasn't responded within a few days and you can see that he has been online for during the past few days your question was asked, yet hasn't bothered to respond is that the answer to your question is no and they are hoping that you will just buy the product anyway.

Rule 4.
Use common sense. If the price on the product is way lower than the retail price then you can almost be guaranteed that it's not a genuine iPod. For example, you see a listing on a website that offers ipods, but you see that the price per item is about $30. There is no way that you will be getting a real iPod for that price. The lowest price for iPods that most wholesalers have is roughly $100 USD give or take $5.

That's all the rules i can think you will need. Next lesson we will go over the different payment types and the best payments to use.

Welcome

Welcome to the grand start of Cheap iPods 101.

So first up, lets get the introduction out of the way and let you guys get to know me.

My name is David Reitano and I live in Queensland, Australia. I am going to teach you how to get cheap iPods, laptops, phones etc. I am also going to teach you how to avoid getting scammed by people who sell fakes and clones.

I first started to learn about wholesaling when my mother opened up a shop in my town and started getting her products (Shirts, books, etc.) at wholesale price. She joked around that she was going to get all our Christmas/birthday presents at wholesale price so that we could get more presents, she only meant it as a joke, but it got me thinking about how easy it would be to start buying in products at wholesale price and start selling them at prices, which might be double of what i was buying them for, but still less than retail price.

I decided to do some research and found that there was a lot of companies located in the Asian countries that sold iPods, Mobile Phones and TV's at wholesale prices. I also found out that there was an equal number of scammers out their who tell you that they are iPods but are just high quality clones and even some who just don't send any products at all.
